An MT940 file needs no column mapping.
MT940 is the SWIFT format banks use to deliver account statements. Amount, date and account fields follow the standard, so an uploaded file is read with its account number, value date and description — no mapping step.

What it does, and where it stops.
The account is recognised
The account number in the file is matched to an account defined for your company. Upload files for several accounts at once and every transaction still lands in its own account.
Balances are checked
If the opening balance plus the transactions does not equal the closing balance, the file is treated as incomplete and flagged before import. A file cut off mid-month does not quietly go in half-read.
Descriptions vary by bank
Amount and date fields are standard; the layout of the description field is not. The merchant name is read from it but never trusted alone for matching — it is weighed together with amount and date.
Setup, in three steps.
- 01
Download the file
Choose MT940 on your online banking statement screen and download the file.
- 02
Upload it
Drag and drop the file. The account number is recognised, and files for several accounts can go in at once.
- 03
Transactions find their receipts
Each line is matched to its receipt on amount, date and merchant together. Unmatched lines are flagged, and the same line never lands twice.
The access we ask for, and nothing more.
We ask for no access: you download the file from online banking and upload it yourself. No bank login, no payment instruction, no direct connection to the bank.

Get in touchEach connection is set up once: you grant access, the chart of accounts and tax codes are read, and the mapping is done once. The label on each card shows its status; for those available on request we plan the scope together.
