Records are not edited, they are rewritten.
Change an amount and the old value does not disappear. The record gains a new revision, the old one stays exactly as it was, and the difference is readable along with who made it and why.

Not a change, a revision.
Correcting a field never writes over the old value. The two values sit side by side, and the difference and its reason are appended to the record. An audit does not ask what it says, it asks what changed and why — the answer lives here.
The trail covers more than corrections.
Views are recorded too
Who looked at an expense is kept. It is one of the most common questions in an enterprise audit, and it cannot be added after the fact.
Exports are recorded too
Every export to accounting is kept along with which records it covered and when. Exporting the same period twice does not go unnoticed.
Erasure leaves a trace
When a person's data is erased, the erasure itself stays on record. Not what was erased — the fact that it was. Those are two different things.
When the auditor arrives, nothing should need hunting down.
A trail is only useful if it is usable. A whole period exports as one file: records, revisions, approvals, and who did what when. No collecting screenshots, no combing through an email archive.

Immutability cannot be added later.
It was built this way from day one
Records are never updated, revisions are appended — that is the data model, not a setting. Bolted on later, every record written before it would have no trace.
Admins cannot delete either
Not even the highest-privileged user can remove a revision. Authority adds new records; it does not rewrite history.
Retention is yours to set
You decide how long records are kept, per organisation. Records past their window are deleted automatically, and the deletion is written to the trail as well.
About the audit trail
If you cannot find an answer here, write to us — we reply the same day.
Get in touchYou can void it, but the line does not disappear. The void is appended as a new revision and the record drops out of reporting. Financial data uses voiding rather than deletion because a deleted line looks like it never existed.
